Don Geronimo got his first career in stereo in the age of 14, at WRWC in Rockton, Illinois. As his career accelerated, but growing never stopped.
From the age of 16 Don was out and on the oxygen within the important market of Pittsburgh, at Fun Lovin’ 13Q. At seventeen, he was working in Nyc, performing the night shift at 99X. And he got fired. Again. And started the climb entirely back-up the air ladder.
In 1979 he was employed at WPGC in Washington, DC. From there it had been onto KIIS- WLS in Chicago after which FM in La. After going for days to WBBM-FM in Chicago, he moved all over back to Washington DC in 1985.
The proceed to WAVA combined with the delivery of Don’s son Bart in ’85 intended no more moving for a time. Don partnered with Mike O’Meara to the WAVA Morning Zoo thru 1991 and was transferred to mornings after doing the evening shift on WAVA. At that time, Mike Show" & the renamed "Don moved to afternoons in DC and back to WJFK. The D&M show went for over 20 years, and at one place was syndicated to over 50 channels. Don retired from that exhibit in 2008, returning to radio this year at KHTK in Sacramento. click here He kept there of three years, until he was shot. All over again!
That resulted in the invention of the DonGeronimoPodcast.com! Many examples of Don’s atmosphere work about the D&M present and solo are available at Airchexx.com. Don continues to generate his magic everyday via live streaming and packages. Don won the Billboard Air Personality Of The Year in 1978 (medium markets), and again in 1981 (main markets) and 1984 (key markets).
